Privacy
This site sets no cookies, embeds no advertising or analytics services and loads no content from third-party servers. Cloudflare injects a script of its own for bot detection when serving the page; it is hosted on the same domain and sets no cookie. You can verify all of this yourself: open your browser's developer tools and look at the requests this page makes.

Accessing this site
The site is served by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you access it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data:
- your IP address
- the date and time of the request
- the file requested and the volume of data transferred
- the browser type and operating system version submitted
- the country of origin derived from your IP address
This data is required to deliver the site and to defend against attacks. It is not combined with other data and is not used to recognise you.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is operating the site free of technical faults and protected against misuse. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with Cloudflare. The contracting party is Cloudflare, Inc., based in the USA. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Transfers to the USA are therefore based on the European Commission's adequacy decision of 10 July 2023 (Article 45 GDPR). The Commission's standard contractual clauses (Implementing Decision 2021/914) are agreed in addition.
Bot detection by Cloudflare
Cloudflare injects a script into the page it serves, loaded from the same
domain at /cdn-cgi/challenge-platform/scripts/jsd/main.js. It
uses technical characteristics of your browser to determine whether the
request comes from a person or from an automated program. It sets no cookie,
measures no audience figures and cannot be switched off on the plan in use.
As a result every page served grows by 938 bytes.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in defending against automated access. Where the script accesses information on your device, it does so without consent under Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG, because this is strictly necessary to operate the site securely.
Fonts and other files
The fonts used are hosted on the same server as the site. No third-party font service is called, in particular not Google Fonts. Your IP address is therefore not transmitted to any further provider.
Cookies, local storage, audience measurement
No cookies are set and no analytics or audience measurement is used. Consent is therefore not required, and there is no consent banner.
Your browser stores two items locally (localStorage): your choice between the light and dark colour scheme and your language choice, as soon as you use the switches at the top right. These items are required to render the site as you chose, contain nothing personal, never leave your device and can be removed by clearing your browser's site data. Storing and reading these two items is based on Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, because it is strictly necessary to render the site as you requested.
The measurements shown on the home page are taken in your browser and displayed there only. They do not leave your device.
Model finder
On the model finder page, your browser reads two
items from your device only after you click “Check hardware”: the name of the
graphics card as the browser reports it via WebGL (including the device ID),
and the amount of system memory as rounded by the browser
(navigator.deviceMemory). “Enter by hand” reads nothing.
Both items are used only in your browser, to pre-fill the input fields and to run the calculation. They are not transmitted to me or to third parties and not stored; they are gone once the page is reloaded.
The page loads the model data from this domain (/finder/modelle.json).
The file is generated automatically once a day from public information on
Hugging Face. Your browser does not send any request to Hugging Face for it,
and no information about you goes into the file.
“Copy result” puts the result text on your clipboard. “Request a quote” opens your e-mail program with a prepared text that contains your hardware details. Nothing is sent unless you send the e-mail yourself; the section on contacting me then applies.
Reading the two items is access to information in your terminal equipment. It takes place without consent under Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, because it is strictly necessary to provide the service you explicitly requested with the click.
Contacting me
If you write or call, I process the details you provide in order to answer your enquiry. As a rule that means your name, email address or phone number and the content of your message.
My email account is operated by netcup GmbH, Emmy-Noether-Straße 10, 76131 Karlsruhe, Germany. A data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR is in place with netcup as well.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries relating to a contract or its preparation, otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
How long data is kept
- Connection data from page requests: the retention period is determined by Cloudflare as the operator of the infrastructure. It is described in Cloudflare's privacy policy. I have no access to this data myself and do not evaluate it
- Business correspondence: up to ten years, where retention obligations under commercial and tax law apply
- Enquiries that do not lead to business: deleted once they have been dealt with
Your rights
You may ask me at any time for:
- access to the data held about you (Article 15 GDPR)

- restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
- your data in a portable format (Article 20 GDPR)
